A superb, attractive and scarce UM progressive strip of four with error Missing gold 4d value only from stamp at left. Both Gibbons and Pierron describe how the value was completely omitted from the first column of sheet on which gold cylinder was stopped so that it printed only the head. Pierron records only 30 (the first column being affected on just 3 sheets) examples of this value only missing error. This strip of four is especially attractive as it is a marginal strip confirming position and the 2nd and 3rd stamps show only the merest trace of value (so feint that not visible on scanned image) demonstrating progressive nature of error as cylinder stopped culminating in the marginal stamp at left (1st column) showing the complete omission of value.
