2005 Classic ITV "Smilers" A pristine example of the very rare first printing by Cartor that was withdrawn due to a number of typographical errors. Four typographical errors occur on the sheet ( all illustrated below). Due to the last minute withdraw a reprinting was produced by Walsall. It is assumed Cartor were unable to respond within the timescale. It is probable that less than 10 of the original Cartor printing escaped being withdrawn making this the scarcest of all Smilers sheets to date. This is certain to be a key sheet especially with the interest generated in Smilers errors by the recent "Isle of White" typographical error on the "Glorious England" sheet, examples of which have been selling for up to £700 on eBay £1200
3rd label column one. 22 September 1965, should read 1955
5th label column three. There should not be an "am" after "12.05"
2nd and 3rd labels column four. There is a repeated listing for the early evening news. There should be no "am" appearing after "2.30" , "2.55" and "3.45"
